On April 17th at 2:30 p.m., the Ethan FCCLA will be hosting speaker Lisa Larson. Lisa is a suicide survivor and has been sober for almost 14 years now. She is very passionate about spreading awareness for mental health and suicide. We feel that this is a very important topic for our high school students.
Also, the FCCLA will be having a bake sale the next two days to raise money for Lisa's 437 project. The 437 project is a relay type run across South Dakota to raise awareness for suicide and mental health. The money they raise and receive for the project goes to the Helpline Center. The Helpline Center is the only accredited suicide crisis center in the state of South Dakota. It serves thousands of people each year by organizing local agency volunteers, and offering hope to individuals with thoughts of suicide.
If you want more information on Lisa's 437 project go here: https://the437project.org/
If you would like to donate directly to the 437 project this link will take you to their website: https://fundraise.givesmart.com/vf/Lisa24
Sincerely,
Coltyn, Elizabeth, Dawson and Ethan FCCLA
