Varsity football practice will begin this Thursday, August 5th, in Ethan at 4:00 PM. We will also practice at 4:00 on Friday, and 8:30 AM on Saturday morning. All student/athletes MUST have a physical before they may participate in practice.
We have scheduled the Parent/Player's Volleyball Meeting on August 8th, 2021! Encourage all 7th grade to 12 grade players who plan to go out this coming fall to attend!! See information below for times and details.
6:00PM (OLD GYM) - Players ONLY (7th-12th graders)
Meet new coaches and discuss schedules/expectations
6:30PM (NEW GYM) - Parents ONLY (I encourage both parents to come to this meeting)
Meet new coaches and discuss upcoming year expectations.
7:00PM (NEW GYM) - Parents/Community (whomever wants to learn about the game)
Coaches/Players will go over the game of volleyball including rules/signals/techniques.
Encouraged to attend if you are not familiar with the game but would like to learn. It is possible that if you know more about a sport you would enjoy it more!

First day of practice is August 12th 8-10AM & 3-5PM. 7th & 8th graders are welcome to come to the morning practices but not required!

USDA extended the Free Breakfast and Lunch Waiver which means this coming School Year 2021-2022 will be free meals! However, if a student goes back for a second entrée or milk it will be charged.
Free and Reduced applications are still available to any household that would like to submit one. These will be available closer to August when registration is open! Please look for a future announcement/e-mail the end of July.
Reminder: Ambush Boys & Girls Basketball Camp in Ethan is next Monday through Wednesday July 12th - 14th. 1st -3rd Grade (9-10:00); 4th-5th grade (10:00-11:15); 7th-12th BOYS (11:30-1:15) 7th-12th(1:15-3:00). Congratulations to 2021 Senior Jocelyn Enfield on her Academic Excellence recognition from Governor Kristi Noem.
We were just notified that the company that is refinishing our gym floors will be here this afternoon! Therefore, the gyms will be closed down until further notice. The girls basketball workout that was scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled. However, there will still be a meeting at 9:30 AM outside of the school building. All girls players need to show up for this meeting. They will be discussing plans going forward with camps and workouts.
Ethan School is currently looking for a new (PK-12) Librarian.
Must have a minimum of 12th grade education. The candidate must be able to relate to adults and children, excellent written and verbal communications required.

There will a team workout next Tuesday June 8 at 9:15 -10:30 for all girls basketball players Grades 7-12. We will have one weekly throughout the summer on Tuesdays at this time. It will allow those athletes who are doing the Avera workouts to still attend.
