Ethan School District 17-1

Ethan FFA took 28 members to the State Convention this past week, spending time in competitions, workshops, career carnivals, and general sessions. See the photos above for the results and awards our students received. Our teams have grown so much in the past year – showcased by multiple top 5 team placings and top 20 individual placings. Our Ag Business team placed 1st overall in their competition, which means they will be competing at the National Convention in Indianapolis this October. This is an incredible accomplishment, especially so for a young chapter such as Ethan. We also want to recognize our five seniors who were awarded their State Degrees. The State Degree is the highest award given to members at the state level, and students must achieve specific criteria to qualify. The State Degree is a symbol of these seniors’ hard work and journey within the organization. We are incredibly proud of the accomplishments of all our members this past week!

Parents, the Ethan-Parkston track team will be hosting their Early Bird track meet on Tuesday, April 8th. We are looking for some volunteers to help run field events that day. The track meet is scheduled to start at 2:00 with a rules meeting held prior to that. If you would be willing to help out, please contact myself or Mr. Roth at the school. Thank you for considering! Today is the last day of the Sweet Dreams Bedding Drive with Sleep in Heavenly Peace! We met both our 250 and 350 item goals this morning! As a reward, Hat Day will be Tuesday, April 8th, and Snack Day (bring your own snack to enjoy during the day) will be Thursday, April 10! We are 21 items away from our goal of 400 items to achieve an early release from school! Our final count will be tomorrow morning at 9:00 am! Our Sweet Dreams Bedding Drive with Sleep in Heavenly Peace ends in just 5 days! We are getting closer to our goal, but we need more items to reach it! As seen in the flyer, we are looking for pillows, sheets, comforters, mattress protectors, blankets, and stuffed animals! We currently have 25 pillows, 43 sheet sets, 5 comforters, 3 mattress protectors, 27 blankets, and 7 stuffed animals! Let’s keep bringing in items to reach our goals of having a school wide pajama day, hat day, snack day, and no homework/early release day! *All items must be new and twin sized!*
